Gold IRA Companies in New York
Federal rules treat every gold IRA the same — the real differences between states sit at the edges, and they are real money. On the way in: New York waives sales tax on qualifying bullion once a single sale clears $1,000, while smaller purchases stay taxable. On the way out: New York excludes the first $20,000 of qualified retirement income per taxpayer aged 59½+ from state tax.
Below you'll find the ten companies our desk rates, the sourcing behind each New York fact (state revenue publications, with check dates), and where approved storage sits. Where a rule is in flux, we say so on the page.

New York exempts gold, silver, platinum and palladium bullion from state and local sales tax when the sale exceeds $1,000 (Tax Law §1115(a)(27)). Coins priced above 140% of their metal value are taxed as collectibles (20 NYCRR §528.29).
Watch: Senate bill S7875 (2025) proposes changes to the exemption — monitor before relying on the threshold.
